Auto for agents

Auto gives your agent a playbook with a brain to analyze, think ahead, act, and remember. This website publishes product information and documentation. Your playbooks run on your own Auto Runtime.

Read the documentation

Start with llms.txt, the Markdown sitemap, or the complete documentation. Every public page has a Markdown mirror: append .md to its URL, or use /index.md for the homepage. You can also request the page with Accept: text/markdown.

Get started locally, build your first playbook, and read the terminology. Use the published setup instructions for the current runtime version and prerequisites.

Search and read tools

The discovery edge exposes a public, read-only documentation API:

  • GET /api/docs?query=workflow&limit=8 searches the published pages.
  • GET /api/docs/page?path=/docs/get-started/local returns a page, its canonical URL, and Markdown.
  • GET /health reports whether this documentation service is available.

The OpenAPI description and API catalog describe these endpoints. They do not create accounts or run playbooks.

Connect an MCP client using Streamable HTTP at https://on.auto/mcp. Its search_auto_docs and read_auto_doc tools read the same public pages. No key or sign-in is required. The server card describes the identity and transport.

Browsers supporting WebMCP expose the same two documentation tools on page load. Other browsers work normally.

Build and run a playbook

Follow the local setup guide to connect your coding agent to Auto Runtime. That runtime's /mcp endpoint manages playbooks and runs; this site's /mcp only reads documentation.

For HTTP integrations, use your runtime's /v1/openapi.json and /.well-known/api-catalog. Its HTTP API reference and MCP reference describe the operations.

The OpenAPI snapshot for the documented release is available without running a server. Use your runtime's live schema when calling it; the snapshot does not make those runtime operations available on this website.

Authentication

Reading this website and its documentation tools requires no registration, credential, or OAuth grant. This origin is not an OAuth authorization server. auth.md documents public access and how to discover authentication on your own runtime.

For a protected Auto Runtime, discover its issuer from that runtime's /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource, then use the advertised authorization server. See authentication and security and the sign-in and token reference. Never send runtime credentials or model API keys to the public documentation tools.

Skills and discovery

The skills index publishes a documentation skill with a SHA-256 integrity digest. The capability catalog links the documentation API, MCP server, and skill. All discovery formats are generated alongside the site so their links and content stay in sync.
